Test Code CTDC Connective Tissue Disease Cascade

Performing Laboratory

Munson Medical Center Laboratories and Mayo Medical Laboratories

Methodology

Enzyme immunoassay (CCP)

Indirect Immunoflourescent Assay (ANA, ds DNA Ab)

Reflex testing:

If  ANA is positive, antinuclear antibody (ANA) titer and pattern, extractable nuclear antigen (ENA) screen, and ribosome P antibodies are performed. When appropriate, DNA double-stranded  antibody (Anti-ds DNA) and/or evaluation of antibodies to extractable nuclear antigen performed. All reflex testing performed at additional charge.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 48 hours of draw.

Container/Tube: Gold-top serum gel tube, one full tube

Specimen Volume:  3 mL serum

Transport Temperature: Refrigerate

Collection Instructions:  Centrifuge within 2 hours of draw, then refrigerate.

Reference Values

Cyclic Citrullinated Peptide 3.1 (CCP) Antibody, IgG:

  < 20 U (negative)
