Aerobic cultureSpecimen Requirements
Specimen must arrive within 96 hours of collection.
1. Collect 5mL stool into a Cary-Blair preservative vial for stool collection and tightly screw on lid.
2. Label container with patient's full name and birthdate, specimen source (stool), and date and time of collection.
3. Send specimen refrigerated.
4. Forward promoptly.
Note: 1. Specimen source is required on request form for processing.
