Clinical Significance
SHBG is used in the diagnosis of women with symptoms or signs of androgen excess( eg. Polycystic ovarian syndrome and idiopathic hirsutism). It is also used in the diagnosis of puberty disorders, anorexia nervosa and thyrotoxicosis.
