Specimen Requirements
Specimen must arrive within 48 hours of draw.
Container/Tube: Gold-top serum gel tube
Specimen Volume: 0.5 mL of serum
Transport Temperature: Refrigerate
Collection Instructions: Forward promptly.
Note: If sample will not arrive at Munson Medical Center Laboratory within 48 hours of collection,serum must be separated from cells and frozen. Store and transport frozen.
Reference Values
Positive test result indicates immunity to the rubella virus.
Negative test result indicates nonimmunity to the rubella virus.
