Test Code RPF Renal Function Panel
Specimen Requirements
Specimen must arrive within 24 hours of draw.
Submit only 1 of the following specimens:
Plasma
Container/Tube: Green-top (heparin) gel tube-Specimen exposed to air is not acceptable.
Specimen Volume: 1.5 mL of heparinized
plasma
Transport Temperature: Refrigerate
Collection Instructions: Fasting (8 hour).
Centrifuge tube within 1 hour of draw. Forward promptly.
Note: 1. Indicate plasma.
2. Label specimen appropriately (plasma).
3. Plasma is stable 24 hours refrigerated.
Serum
Container/Tube: Gold-top serum gel
tube-Specimen exposed to air is not
acceptable.
Specimen Volume: 1.5 mL of serum
Transport Temperature: Refrigerate
Collection Instructions: Fasting (8 hour).
Centrifuge tube within 1 hour of draw. Forward promptly.
Note: 1. Indicate serum.
2. Label specimen appropriately (serum).
3. Serum is stable 72 hours refrigerated.
