Methodology

Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA)

Screens for the following drug classes: amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, cannabinoids, cocaine metabolite, methadone, opiates, oxycodone, and phencyclidine.

Reflex testing:  Confirmatory testing is forwarded to Mayo Medical Laboratoried for non-workplace specimens collected following chain of custody protocol.

Specimen Requirements

Specimen must arrive within 72 hours of collection.

 

5 mL from a random urine collection in a plastic urine container. No preservative. Send specimen refrigerated. Forward promptly.

Amphetamines: 1000 ng/mL

Barbiturates: 200 ng/mL

Benzodiazepines: 200 ng/mL

Cannabinoids (THC): 50 ng/mL

Cocaine: 300 ng/mL

Methadone: 300 ng/mL

Opiates: 300 ng/mL

Oxycodone: 100 ng/mL

Phencyclidine: 25 ng/mL
