Clinical Significance
Carbamazepine is given in the treatment of epilepsy. It is ordinarily used as part of a multi-drug regimen in the treatment of patients who have not responded to standard therapy. The drug also has anticholinergic, antidepressant, anti-arrhythmic, muscle relaxing, sedative and anti-diuretic effects.
